Dedication

This web-based expose/healing treatise/researcher’s guide is dedicated to all victims and survivors of clerical sexual abuse. While this presents the “Louisville” story of crimes committed against children. It also reveals the cover-up to protect pedophiles in the Catholic Church and failure to blame those responsible for causing so much pain, suffering, indignation, loss of purpose and relationships. Victims/survivors have also experienced: Physical, Emotional, Psychological, Financial, Social, Generational and most grievous Spiritual pain.

My Hope is that through a better understanding of what happened here, victims and survivors experiences will be validated providing a pathway to healing, Aiding in the healing process are:Prayers, Songs, Quotations, Bible Verses and Poems.

Identifing the Wolves and Good Shepherds as well as providing time lines for perspectives and behind the scenes stories will help victims/survivors as well.

In an effort to prevent future victimization this website provides the tools for researchers, historians and archivists to never let the “Louisville” story be buried.

Opening Thoughts and Prayers

Looking to Mary in times of grief and loss by Bro. Silace Henderson,SDS

We invariably need the care and support of others. This need is most apparent during those times of suffering, and loss that we all experience. Benedictine sister loan Chittister reminds us, “There is no one who does not have to choose something, someway, between giving up and growing stronger as they go along. And yet if we give up in the midst of the struggle, we never find out what the struggle would have given us in the end”. It is often during these times that special, People appear and prove to us that, whatever we might be experiencing in life, we are not, in fact, alone.

Those who are most able to offer us the consolation and compassion we need as we go through challenging times are individuals who have experienced suffering and loss themselves. After all, the word “compassion” literally means “to suffer or endure with”.

For centuries, people of faith have looked to Mary, mother of Jesus, as both a model of  faith and as a woman of compassion who supports US during times of sorrow. Honored as the Mater Dolorosa or “Mother of Sorrows” Mary experienced moments of grief and loss in her own life. By reflecting on certain events known as the “seven sorrows”, we can learn from this faithful and humble woman how to not only survive the trials and losses we experience in life, but how to live an even grow during the most challenging of times. It is my hope that by reflecting on these events in Mary’s life, you will find inspiration and support in your own times of Sorrow.

A general, yet most famous prayer, to Mary, “The Memorare”

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, we fly unto to you, O Virgin of virgins, our Mother! To you we come, before you we stand, sinful and sorrowful. Oh Mother of the Word incarnate, despise not our petitions, in your mercy hear and answer us. Amen.

A specific pray to Mary.

Dear Mother of God, Saint Mary.

We humbly ask you to intercede to your Son to help victims and survivors of clergy sexual abuse, to heal. He cured the blind, the disabled, the diseased and raisec the dead. We ask for his special Mercy and Grace.

Many lives have been shattered or needlessly taken. Many more need hope of healing and relief from their pain.

We ask that others learn to understand the plight of their brothers and sisters, their despair and Lost Connection to the Catholic Church. Help mend their distrust.

We also asked you to encourage researchers, historians and archivists to keep telling the story of what happened here in Louisville; so it will not be buried and forgotten but will be a “Beacon of Light” to help protect our children.

A Plea

There are many people that knew what was going on,behind the scenes at the Archdiocese of Louisville from the 1960s to now. Some are still active, some retired. Why haven’t they come forward to expose the evil that was committed. Such silence leads to more crimes and the denial of Justice. These people are Fellow priests, office personnel, teachers and parents.

Remove the doubt that still lingers, that protects the guilty and punishes the victims and survivors

Author’s Note – While this expose on what happened in Louisville, the same patterns and practices were commonplace in our universal church.

To parents, siblings and relatives of victims/survivors of clergy sexual abuse.

You have been injured as well. Hopefully the information presented here will help your healing as well as that of your loved one. With a better understanding you vill be a better listener, encourager and provider of loving support.

To All Catholic Laity

We have all been shocked disheartened and disgusted by the actions of some of our:  Priests Bishops, Cardinals and even Popes. I hope the healing ideas, insights, recommendations and guides can help your pain and frustration and helps soothe your spiritual wounds … perhaps a path can be found for your return to our Church.

To the Good Shepherds

Many thanks and much appreciation goes to those that supported victims and survivors through their prayers, working on projects, attending and contributing to meetings, helping to change Kentucky laws, providing donations, and certainly for the moral support they provided.

Some of these groups include: local members of SNAP (the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests), VOTF (Voice Of The Faithful), the local media for their investigative reporting, covering press conferences, meetings, and protests. The Members of Saint Williams and Epiphany parishes, the few whistleblowers, The Pashionist monastery and the atheist Society of Louisville.

More and detailed descriptions of good Shepherds can be found in Section 5 of this website.

To my wife Nicki,

Thank you for standing by me and working with me and living the story of the sexual abuse of children by priests here in Louisville. Over the past 20 plus years you have helped support Victims/Survivors, educate the public, encourage our local media to report the stories, participated in hundreds of meetings, Healing Services, conferences and even protests. Most of the work I have done would not have been possible without your love and support.

Will Always Love You!

Cal

To: Researchers Historians and Archivists,

How is history preserved? I believe, by dedicated people that want to preserve the happenings of the past, both the good and the bad. Preserve the good to encourage others to do good and to preserve the bad and evil so following generations can learn from the crisis, the injuries, the deceit and the cover-up of past events, so that their repeat is lessened or prevented.

Wolves in Cassocks … Where Were the Shepherds ??? , provides links to tens of thousands of documents, newspaper articles, victims testimonies, depositions, Attorey General’s reports, the warnings to the Bishops of the horrors and the reality of Priestly and clerical sexual abuse of children, pedophile stories, packground/assignments, documentation of the cover up letters and much more. All in all … the proof that crimes were committed and covered up.

Maps, timelines, behind the scenes stories, photos, etc. are used to expose the cover up in a graphic way, to help viewers/readers better understanding the enormity of the crisis.

We encourage you to preserve this “Trail of Tears” here in Louisville and surrounding counties utilizing the high standards by your predecessors at The Courier- Journal and our local TV and Radio stations.
